Vishkhopri is a wide meadow perched at 3,600 metres, present at Supin and Guggal Gad’s confluence. It is a wide meadow with thousands of blossoming colorful flowers with a divine fragrance. It is all picturesque and seems like a wallpaper, the beauty there is in abundance which makes you doubt if the scenario is real or some dream.

Day 1:- Dehradun to Sankri (1920 m) (210 km) (7/8 hours) overnight stay in a hotel

Our pick up point is Dehradun Railway station or ISBT, meet us there and then drive is towards Sankri. You can have your breakfast at Kempty Fall which is a famous picnic spot and is famous for a waterfall. Have your lunch in middle of your journey at Purola.

It’s a picturesque drive to Sankri, you will get fetching views through your window, and the drive will be through Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainbagh, Damta, Newman, Purola, Mori, Netwar these are beautiful places in the Himalayas. Sankri lies in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi district, it is a village with a mini market famous for wooden huts which serve delectable food. You will see apple orchards here and greenery all around.

Reach Sankri have a glace of snow covered mountains, this place is pollution free, enjoy the invigorating climate. We own a hotel there named “Swargarohini”, relax for the night here.

Day 2:- Drive from Sankri to Jakhol (2200 m) (19 km) Jakhol to Liwari (2750 m) via Baicha (8 km) (4/5 hours) overnight stay in camps

Jakhol is Supin valley’s last village at a height of 2200 m. After having breakfast the drive is towards this village. Trek starts from here, follow Supin’s leftbank and after crossing a bridge you will reach Baicha.

From Baicha have a glance of Obra Gad a scenic place, from this Gad one can also reach Devkiyara. Keep following River Supin and further Fithari village will come into sight with its quaint wooden houses and small huts.

To reach Liwari village, the climb is difficult it leads you to the fields on Supin’s left bank. Go through these fields and after the last ridge climb come to the village. You can visit Someshwar Devta’s temple there which is worshipped by the villagers.

Setup your camps and sleep comfortably in tents.

Day 3:- Liwari to Surmola Thach (3460 m) (10 km) (5/6 hours) overnight stay in camps

Early morning you can go to the temple and after bowing down to Lord Someshwar head towards Surmola Thach. Initial trek is through the potato fields from where you can have glance of “Sural Dhar”.

Enter a forest section with varied trees i.e. Pine, Deodar and Walnut. After 1 km you will reach a bridge, further you will trek through the landslide prone area which has many boulders.

Reach Surmola Thach a green wide grassland and at the top of the ridge there is a holy lake “Badasu” it is considered pure and sacred by the villagers. Pitch your tents and retire for the night.

Day 4:- Surmola Thach to Vishkhopri (3600 m) (9 km) (5/6 hours) overnight stay in camps

Today is the main day and the trek is towards Vishkhopri, leave the pristine grounds of Surmola Thach and start heading towards your destination. Follow River Supin right bank and be very careful while walking through the landslide zone.

Some parts are damaged which makes today’s trek a little difficult. Reach the blooming top after a sheer ascent. There are green grassy fields and the colorful flowers bloom all together which are feast for the eyes. Now, a descent will take you to reach Vishkhopri, it is present at Supin and Guggal Gad’s confluence.

Setup your camps at the magical ground of Vishkhopri and after exploring retire for the night.

Day 5:- Exploration Day

Today the day is reserved for exploring the surroundings.

Day 6:- Vishkhopri to Surmola Thach (9 km) (4/5 hours) overnight stay in camps

It is time to leave the magical grounds of Vishkhopri and getting back. Start the descent to Surmola Thach, you will get pleasure to go downhill by trekking through the green meadows with abundant wildflowers.

The trek is along River Supin bank. Surmola Thach was your campsite on Day 3 and today also you are going to stay there in the serenity. Reach there place your tents and settle for the day.

Day 7:- Surmola Thach to Liwari (10 km) (5/6 hours) overnight stay in camps

On the way from Surmola Thach to Liwari, cross a bridge over Supin and trek through dense forests of Pine, Deodar and Walnut trees. Ahead reach the potato fields.

Reach Liwari village and again come across the temple. Setup your tents there and rest for the day.

Day 8:- Liwari to Jakhol (8 km) (4/5 hours) Drive to Sankri (19 km) overnight stay in a hotel

After waking up you can go to the villagers and talk, they are always happy to share their experiences and ask yours. Bid adieu to this beautiful village and kind villagers and start the trek to Jakhol.

Go through Baicha by following the bank of River Supin, short hike from here will lead you to Jakhol. This is the end point of this trek from here we will arrange a vehicle till Sankri. Arrangements will be made in Swargarohini hotel there.

Day 9:- Sankri to Dehradun (210 km) (7/8 hours)

Leave for Dehradun early so that you can reach there around 6:00 pm.
