The best time to visit Kasol and Kheerganga depends upon your preference as a trekker. If you prefer warmer weather and spring, March to early June are the best seasons for your visit. However, if you are looking to trek in snow, and hoping for colder weather, November till early December, or late in January – February would be ideal! This adventure trek is marked as an easy level trek. The terrain of the trek is a gentle incline and decline, for the most part, getting steep for only some short parts. For this adventure trek, you have to simply meet us at Kasol. The distance between Kasol to Kheerganga is 22 km(13.7miles) via Barshaini road. The starting point of the trek is Barshaini where you can reach by taking a bus or taxi from Kasol. The trek distance is 12 km (7.5miles) from Barshaini and can be completed in 5-6 hours. The distance from Delhi to Kasol can be covered in a beautiful, 15-hour-long drive route. However, if you are looking to undertake the trek, it is best that you do not undertake the long drive before the trek as it can get tiring, and take public transport instead. You can take an overnight bus from Delhi to Bhuntar. You will reach Kasol between 5 AM to 7 AM. From Bhuntar, you can either take a bus or hire a cab to Kasol. Alternatively, you can also fly to Dharamshala or Kullu, and from there you can simply take a bus to Kasol. You can also reach Kasol by taking a train from Delhi to Joginder Nagar, the nearest railway station to Kasol. From Joginder Nagar, you can take a bus or cab to Kasol.
Some quick tips for beginners:
If this is your first long-distance trek, it is always a better idea to plan ahead and start exercising at least a few weeks in advance. Especially since this trek to Kheerganga can get steep in parts.
Carry enough energy supplements for trek time. It is always better to carry foods containing sugar for energy, like chikki, plum cakes, energy bars and especially some candy!
Carry extra clothes, especially since the trek to Kheerganga includes a visit to the Parvati Kund. It is absolutely not a good idea to trek in wet clothes.
Always prepare for an extra day, as the weather in the mountains can be quite unpredictable and cause delays in the schedule! Use your vacation days wisely and plan ahead!
While the chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness during the Kasol Kheerganga trek are comparatively lower due to the elevation level, make sure to get acclimatized – especially during the trek from Barshaini to Kheerganga – by taking adequate breaks along the way!
While it is always best to be prepared and carry enough, it is of utmost importance that you keep your baggage light for high-altitude treks, as it can get very tiring, very quickly!
Internet and network connectivity is almost non-existent by the time you reach Kheerganga. Thus, it is best to be prepared for such situations and inform close friends and relatives beforehand about your plan to journey to Himachal Pradesh!

Board bus the night before and reach Kasol via Bus (Applicable on "Delhi to Delhi variant")
Upon reaching Kasol at around 10:30 AM, you can head out to explore Kasol. Explore all the landmarks of Kasol and enjoy the many cafés which serve the delicious local cuisine, before heading back.
After getting back, freshen up, relax for a while and then enjoy the bonfire and music set up for you.
Afterwards, have the wonderful experience of a music session and a splendid campfire as you enjoy a scrumptious dinner prepared for you.
Adventure doesn't stop here, as you snuggle into your mountain top camping tents, surrounded by the surreal Parvati Valley; after the ablaze bonfire to keep you cozy and warm.
6:00 AM - Wake up call. Enjoy the hot, fresh breakfast before starting your day.
Reach Barshaini by 10:30 AM. From here, the much-awaited trek to Kheerganga begins! The trek takes about 5-6 hours to complete.
On the way from Barshaini to Kheerganga, you will explore various tourist attractions like the Rudra Nag waterfall which is famously shaped like a serpent, the ancient Shiva Temple, and the beautiful, fragrant apple orchards.
Upon reaching Kheerganga, you can explore the various forest trails and the surrounding woods. The pretty wildflowers and the humongous oaks and deodars are enticing for all.
In the evening, enjoy a fun music session, next to a cozy campfire before heading to your tents for the night!
6:30 AM - Wake up call. Start the day early with a dip in the natural hot springs - the Parvati Kund. Enjoy the view of the green slopes of the Parvati Valley and the scent of the forest lingering in the air while relaxing in the hot water of the Kund.
After breakfast, we will start the trek back to Kasol. This time, upon reaching, you can explore the towns of Barshaini and go sightseeing even in the nearby Tosh. The quaint towns have seen a recent spurt in tourist activity - the splendid local cafés and the various tourist spots being the main reason for that, along with the trekking activity.
In the evening, reach Kasol as your journey comes to an end.
