4 Days 3 Nights
If you are looking for a high altitude trek in a short duration and low budget, Kanamo Peak is for you. The name ‘Kanamo’ is composed of two words, Ka and Namo which means “a white lady”. Kanamo peak standing at a height of 19,600 feet in Spiti Valley is no doubt a thrilling adventure but meant for those who consider themselves super fit & have experience of at least one high altitude trek. This is one of the few peaks which do not require any technical skills of mountaineering. However an altitude like should not be taken lightly. You should get proper acclimatization done to avoid chances of AMS which are very high particularly on a trek like this. Kanamo can be considered as a good alternative to Stok Kangri & Friendship Peak which are other trekking peaks in India. From the summit, one gets grand views of Ladakh, Spiti, Pin Parvati Pass, Parang La and peaks of Kinnaur side. The best time to climb Kanamo Peak is May to July. Find all essential information on this page like Kanamo peak detailed itinerary, route map, temperature chart, and photos.

Early morning, begin the preliminary stage of the trek to Kanamo Peak by hiking to the base camp of the mountain. Remember to capture the beauty of the Lahaul and Spiti region in your camera and memory as you walk along. There would be patches of green grass on the mostly barren valley floor, and the high mountains may even have some snow on top. Post preserving some energy, make the final ascent and on completing it, celebrate your success and look down at the Spiti Valley, Kinnaur ranges and Kullu valley from the summit. The hard part is over here, and the next part of this expedition requires descending back to the basecamp.
